We are currently seeking a System Support Specialist to join our team at our Sunrise location!

The primary role of this position is to make a difference in our neighbor’s financial lives. This is accomplished by providing the highest quality of service to both internal and external members. In addition, performs to insure the smooth and effective operations of the Credit Union's information and operating systems; hardware and software, training, and support.

- Responsibilities

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding service to each internal and external member as defined by our Service Standards and Promises
  • Familiarity with Data Processing vendor(s) documentation for modules/features used by Credit Union. Reviews documentation of new modules/features, submits for use to computer operations management. Interfaces with vendor on implementation, configuration of software & hardware, datacomm & cabling, prioritization and resolution of problem issues. Maintains internal list of priority issues.
  • General support for other technology or DP issues, i.e. audio response system, automated telephone attendant, imaging, fax technology, data format conversion, etc.
  • Responsible for maintaining the real time applications on a timely basis. Open and closes the Credit Union related to IT functions. Maintains a job log to facilitate in error detection.
  • Work with Information System Manager in the evaluation of the current computer system and in recommending both hardware and software solutions that will satisfy future and technological requirements.
  • Generates reports and maintains back-office job streams schedules: Daily, Monthly, Yearly.
  • Assists in development and update of internal documentation of procedures for development and use of DP system applications.
  • Maintains and backs up the integrity of the database structure.
  • Distributes/inserts updates of DP vendor documentation
  • Other job related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

  1. Provide outstanding service to each internal and external member as defined by our Service Standards and Promises
  2. To keep management and operational areas informed regarding data processing service interruptions, keeping interruptions to a minimum and scheduling down time during off-peak time hours.
  3. To maintain all hardware in working order, insuring that all systems are functioning within established parameters. Essential hardware must be put back into service within a timely manner. Non-essential hardware should be put back into service within a reasonable time frame.
  4. Assist with technical projects coordination, develop testing and updating software as new versions are released.
  5. To complete assigned period-end processing and reports as scheduled, with zero errors.
  6. To maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance.

Maintain knowledge with training:

  • BSA Compliance – every employee is required to uphold the credit union’s compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures. Specific functions with BSCU will take into consideration the awareness of unusual or suspicious activity that is relevant to the department.
  • In addition to any other assigned training courses, online BSA and OFAC courses must be completed at least annually, as made available by the Training and/or Compliance Department.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Identification Program, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, Fair Lending and Credit Card Act.

- Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.

Education: (1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.

Interpersonal Skills: Work normally involves contacts with persons beyond immediate associates generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors) requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.

Other Skills: Diagnostic and maintenance abilities with PC hardware, software and Local Area Network. Able to write simple PC-based software applications and reports.
