Project Coordinator

We are seeking a Project Coordinator to join our team!

We are searching for a skilled project coordinator to contribute to BrightStar Credit Union's growth and help us maintain our position as an innovative authority. This position will report to the Digital Innovation and Transformation Manager and assist in the department's continuous evolution of project management, digital innovation, and transformation. You must be prepared to create comprehensive project plans, present progress updates to control, understand, and evolve with the project life cycles, and ensure the innovation we seek is always in the big picture and achieved.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Work on multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Act as liaise with management and stakeholders to identify and define project requirements, scopes, and objectives that align with organizational goals
  • Coordinate & monitor internal and external resources appropriately, ensuring projects remain efficient, within scope, and schedule.
  • Analyze project progress and, when necessary, adapt scope and timelines to achieve maximum benefit.
  • Assist in assigning roles and tasks to dedicated team members based on individual strengths and abilities and check in for status updates.
  • Capture lessons learned throughout the project for reflection and making recommendations to the project sponsor(s).
  • Ensure projects are aligned with organizational goals and upholding standards and best practices.
  • Maintain project management information system by updating and tracking overall progress and accomplishment of project milestones.
  • Report project outcomes and risks to the manager, escalating issues as necessary based on project work plans.
  • Act as a point of communication for each project team to ensure the project team tasks are completed for tracking purposes.
  • Assist with controlling, monitoring, testing, and troubleshooting digital services integrating with the core, online, mobile deposit capture, online platform upgrades, and help desk tickets.
  • Provide outstanding service to each internal and external member defined by our Service Standards and Promises.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work with stakeholders to understand their needs and build trusted relationships.
  • Assist in preparing project management documentation consistently and accurately.
  • Efficient in time & workload management, must act promptly to requests.
  • Good understanding of project methodologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams defined by our Service Standards and Promises.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and with defined timelines and milestones.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of financial institution operations and business processes, including technology solutions used in financial institutions' operations.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends.
  • Advanced verbal communication skills: the ability to articulate your thoughts and ideas and develop a point of view about your work.

Minimum Expectations of Knowledge and Skills:

Experience -One-Two years of similar or related experience.

Education-(1) A two-year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school, or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.

Interpersonal Skills-Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and outside the organization for giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.

Other Skills-Excellent Problem Solving/Analysis skills. Excellent communication and writing skills. Excellent conceptual thinking and analytical skills.

Compliance:

Every employee must uphold the credit union's compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures. Specific functions with B.S.C.U. will consider the awareness of unusual or suspicious activity that is relevant to the department.

  • In addition to any other assigned training courses, online B.S.A. and O.F.A.C. courses must be completed at least annually, as made available by the Training and Compliance Department.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Identification Program, U.S.A. Patriot Act, O.F.A.C., Fair Lending, and Credit Card Act.
