About the Role:

Our goal is to strengthen and grow member and organizational relationships through quality and timely contact. Responsible for the maintenance and growth of current partnerships and the development of new relationships with prospective members within the community and field of membership. Attends community events, presents financial education seminars, manages our CU@School program and in-school ambassador program, and represents the credit union to members and potential members.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Develops and deepens relationships with members, prospective members, city agencies, schools, colleges, businesses, associations, and organizations. Presents information regarding the credit union's products, services, and mission. Makes financial education and other credit union presentations at CU@School locations, seminars, businesses, and school board enrollment meetings on behalf of the credit union. Attends community and business networking events both within and outside of business hours, meeting assigned membership growth goals. Supports our ambassadors, branches, and lending by aligning outreach efforts with credit union goals, including generating a steady stream of leads.
  • Tracks and reports data related to member engagement and growth, including reporting on activities in the community with partners and members
  • Generates a steady stream of leads regarding loans and deposits through a variety of outreach strategies. Tracks and reports on these leads.
  • Participates in the development of promotional strategies to meet goals; makes recommendations for improvement based on community feedback; supports and executes promotions.
  • Directly drives in new membership from community outreach.
  • Demonstrate the credit union's brand and BRIGHT SERVICE in the day-to-day business environment through our values of Solutions, Experience, Respect, Integrity, Consistency, and Empowerment to all co-workers, vendors, members, and community members.
  • Maintain an excellent knowledge of financial products and services, as well as an understanding of the credit union's mission.
  • Develop, maintain, and deepen relationships with prospective members, the city, businesses, schools, and community groups
  • Execute community promotions as needed and meet established goals set for the position.
  • Present a professional image to credit union staff and all contacts in the community, communicating in a practical, timely, and appropriate manner.
  • Provide informed, prompt, professional, and accurate services and support to all members, prospective members, and staff
  • Analyze and recommend programs based on data and experience with members and the community
  • Maintain knowledge with B.S.A. Compliance training.
  • Must be comfortable presenting and speaking to large and small groups of people
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

The number of new members will measure the number of new roles added, new organizational partnerships, or segments added. This role will also be eligible for incentives based on performance.

Minimum Expectations of Knowledge and Skills:

Experience - One to three years of similar or related experience

Education:

(1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program

Interpersonal Skills- Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of an individual or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important, and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

Compliance:


Every employee must uphold the credit union's compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures. Specific functions with B.S.C.U. will consider the awareness of unusual or suspicious activity that is relevant to the department.

  • In addition to any other assigned training courses, online B.S.A. and O.F.A.C. courses must be completed at least annually, as made available by the Training and Compliance Department.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Identification Program, U.S.A. Patriot Act, O.F.A.C., Fair Lending, and Credit Card Act.
