The primary role of this position is to make a difference in our neighbors' financial lives. This is accomplished by providing the highest quality of service to members. Additionally, this position is responsible for maintaining the credit card portfolio, encompassing both day-to-day functions and monthly and annual processes. This person will also assist leadership with projects and research, while continually seeking improvements to processes and portfolios. They will also provide back-up for the share draft and Check 21 processes.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding service to each internal and external member as defined by our Service Standards and Promises.
  • Support the daily operations of the credit card portfolio. Process new credit card applications and balance transfers.
  • Facilitate ordering and reissuance of debit and credit cards.
  • Maintain and review daily, monthly, and quarterly reports as required.
  • Maintain current knowledge of card-related regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance. Assist in writing departmental procedures.
  • Assist management with projects and research, and support team members with routine and complex issues related to EFT products.
  • Maintains and audits card orders.
  • Act as a backup to the other Card Specialists and the Adjustment Specialist.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain knowledge with B.S.A. Compliance training.

  • Provide outstanding service to members as defined by our service standards and promises.
  • To carry out assigned responsibilities with zero errors according to established department standards.
  • Obtain a thorough understanding of credit cards and check processing to support these job functions effectively.

Minimum Expectations of Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: One to three years of similar or related experience.

Education: (1) A two-year college degree, (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.

Interpersonal Skills - Work involves extensive personal contact with others, both within and outside the organization, to resolve first-level conflicts, build relationships, and solicit cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Other Skills- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement, initiative, and tact in dealing with members, supervisors, and staff. Ability to multitask and to prioritize many daily functions, while working with conflicting deadlines. Must have excellent communication, member service, and human relations skills. Must have basic knowledge of Excel and Word applications. Must have proficiency in data entry, using various applications.

Compliance

Employees must uphold the credit union's compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures. Specific functions with B.S.C.U. will consider the awareness of unusual or suspicious activity relevant to the department.

  • In addition to any other assigned training courses, online B.S.A. and O.F.A.C. courses must be completed at least annually, as made available by the Training and Compliance Department.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Identification Program, U.S.A. Patriot Act, OFAC, Fair Lending, and Credit Card Act.
